Constanța, Romania — 21–23 October 2025
The Via Pontica Foundation took part in the Knowledge Exchange Group meeting under the project MoreAdaptBSB (BSB00479) — “Less vulnerability, more adaptability”, held from 21 to 23 October 2025 in Constanța, Romania.
The event, organised by Ovidius University of Constanța, brought together representatives of partner organisations, research institutes, local authorities and non-governmental organisations from across the Black Sea Basin.
Within the framework of the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin programme, the meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation between the countries of the region and to encourage the exchange of experience and knowledge in the field of climate change adaptation and biodiversity restoration in coastal and urban areas.
During the two days of discussions the participants presented the progress of the project activities, shared preliminary results from the pilot sites and discussed the development of nature-based solutions (NbS) to increase ecological resilience.
The Via Pontica Foundation was represented by project manager Georgi Kostadinov, who joined the thematic panels alongside experts from Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine.
The event also included a field visit to the pilot site in Constanța, where participants assessed restoration priorities and discussed the scope for applying nature-based solutions together with local specialists and institutions.
The meeting concluded with a summary of the key conclusions and an outline of the next steps for continuing cooperation between the partners. The knowledge and experience gained will contribute to the sustainable development of ecosystems in the Black Sea region and to the successful implementation of the project’s future activities.
