Via Pontica Foundation representative takes part in a European forum on the future of Europe beyond 2030 in Brussels
On 8 May 2026 Brussels hosts the international event “European Leadership for the Future: Civil Society Driving the Post-2030 Agenda”, devoted to the role of civil society in shaping the future European and global agenda for sustainable development beyond 2030.
The forum is taking place at the European Economic and Social Committee, in the Palazzo Van Maerlant, Rue Van Maerlant 2, Brussels. The event is organised by ASviS in cooperation with the Civil Society Organisations’ Group of the EESC and SDG Watch Europe.
The Via Pontica Foundation is represented at the forum by Ina Agafonova, founder and Chair of the Management Board of the Foundation.
The event gathers representatives of the European institutions, the business sector, civil society and academia to discuss the European Union’s role in shaping the global agenda beyond 2030. The main themes include accelerating action on the Sustainable Development Goals, the EU’s sustainable competitiveness, the need for a strategic vision, the role of civil society organisations and the search for broader measures of progress beyond GDP.
The Via Pontica Foundation’s participation in this European forum is part of the organisation’s consistent commitment to sustainable development, nature conservation, civic participation and the building of a fairer, more sustainable and more responsible future.
The forum highlights the need for Europe to move from incremental progress to a deeper structural transformation of its development model, so that it not only meets the 2030 targets but also takes an active part in shaping the framework for sustainable development beyond that date.
