Today, 2 February 2026, we mark World Wetlands Day. To mark the occasion we present Wetlands Speak — an initiative that draws attention to wetlands through their own natural sound. Birds, water and the surrounding environment create a unique soundscape that speaks of the richness and fragility of these ecosystems and of what they mean for biodiversity and the climate.
